Dog meat sold on the market (Vietnam)

Western culture considers that eating a dog is cruel, barbaric and disgusting (not illegal, though), but ironically we have no problem eating all other sorts of animals as long as they are not called pets.
But for the vast majority of people on earth, cultural values are very different. Dog meat is considered a delicacy in some asian cultures, and indeed cooked dog meat is very tasty and protein rich. You should try it some day! (if you are not vegetarian)
"Food dogs" are not pets and they have no names. They are bred and raised in farms, just like pigs, cows, lambs, chickens and other farm animals. They are put down "humanely" just like any other farm animal, usually by slitting the throat and beeding the animal until it passes out.
This series of photos shows the process involved in preparing a dog for dinner, from slautering to cutting-up, eviscerating, de-boning, cooking and of course eating! These photos were taken in Bac Ha, a small town in the Northern part of Vietnam, and in various markets of the region.
In case you are wondering, I did not order the dog for dinner, I just stumbled on the scene in the street and documented it, since I had my camera.

Remember this people humans are animals, we fuck, kill, an eat what ever we want. So to all those who think that eating ANYTHING is wrong, then you need to pull your lower lip up over your head an swallow.
You have free will it was give to us monkeys by this so called "God" entity. If this entity did not want us to have the choice to eat tasty meaty goodness. Then we would not be able to. actually no, these dogs are raised in farms, just like pigs, and they are not pets and they have no name. and they are not used in dog fights, they are just used for meat, just like pigs are.
This isn't cruel at all. Its actually normal, and like most people have already commented; most humans consume meat such as cows, pigs etc... , why should eating dog be any different? Us humans eat them, and it's because we can. If those animals had the power to, then they would do the same. Humans are just sad creatures, and our existence causes more suffering then any other being. ( And yes, this may make me seem like a hypocrite, because I too am Human and eat meat. )
I disagree dogs indeed do have the power to attack, kill and eat humans but the choose to be our friends we should give them respect because they can do a lot they help save our life's i have a service dog and personally don't agree eating dogs for food
i think that dogs choose to be your friend because they know that if they are nice with you, you will feed them. that's how animals become pets. but if you meet a wild dog in the forest (e.g. a cayote or a wolf), i think they will try to eat you, rather than try to be your friend.

This is so incredibly demonic! Even though it is part of culture, society should be able to differentiate between a meal for a family to the slaughtering of an animal that was purposed to give companionship and joy to its owner. What ABSURDITY this is! I honestly believe that if someone is able to cut a dog's body open without, the least bit of remorse or guilt, is utterly monstrous. Please, I will pray for this "feasting" to cease and hope that God has mercy upon them if "society" all of the sudden decides that a human isn't any different from cows, chicken, or pig, just as you have elucidated. It is websites like these that not inspire, but oblige me as a civilized being to dedicate my life to stopping this cause and relieving others involved of their sinful doings.
you are forgetting that this animal was not a pet. it was raised for food, just like pigs, and it had no name. i don't believe that some animals are "purposed" to be pets, and some other animals are "purposed" to be eaten. pigs are smarter than dogs, yet people eat them with no afterthoughts. i hope you are vegetarian. if not, you are terribly hypocritical. if you consider that eating dog meat is a sin, you should consider that eating the meat of any animal is a sin. i hope those photos can make you think twice tefore you buy meat in your supermarket. how can you be sure that the animal you will eat was not someone's pet?
HEY people stop criticizing! things like that happen all around the world!! Hey what about cows, pigs, horses, chicken, duck, deer, kangaroo, alligator, snake, bugs, and any other animal out there!! Humans still eat them too!! So what is wrong with dog? is dog any better than all of those? No it is same, people can keep cow, horse, pig and chicken as pet like dog too!!! sometimes it is just people's culture!!

the world isnt the same everywhere you know... the culture you grew up with is different from theirs... what makes you think you can just go and make radical changes to another culture just because you dont know much about the different lifestyles in other parts of the world... just remember theres families who depend on this cultural practice to get by... you have to introduce something else they can do to make a living...

Dogs are faithful companions huh? Tell that to the guy who was eaten by his own beloved dog after dying in his upstairs apartment in Detroit. True story, told to me by the police officer that found the guy (with his chest cavity eaten out) and promptly blew the mutt away. He hates dogs, a sentiment that I share. It does my heart good to see these mutts as meat.
